Trazodone is an antidepressant with a rapid taken effect (about 1 week), acting both as a serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) as well as 5HT2 receptor antagonist. In contrast to the tricyclic antidepressants trazodone has no anticholinergic activity.

Tablets or capsules with 100 mg for the treatment of depressive disorders, including sleep disorders. Together at the start of SSRI treatment applicable.
Increased efficiency together with CNS-effectve drugs and alcohol.
Not contra-indicated in cases of glaucome.
Intensive metabolisation by oxidation and hydrolysis, main metabolite: m-Chlorophenyl-piperazine. Therapeutic Blood-/Plasma level 0.8 to 1.6 µg/ml, respectively.
