Receptors

German Version French Version

In neurobiological studies of the last years one refers to the meaning of specific receptors, i.e. connection places in the brain for different kinds of drug, e.g. opiate receptors in the so-called beta-endorphin system in the brain.

Cannabinoid receptors, both the CB1-cannabinoid-receptor and the CB2-receptor in the Striatum and Hippocampus, at which the body-own anandamide as well as 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) tie up.

Due to certain structure similarities between thujone and THC also thujone reacts in high doses. Further special receptors for alcohol and benzodiazepines, so-called Valium receptors are discussed.
