Scene term for intravenous drug addicts injecting heroin and cocaine. The restricted intoxication effect is faster reached by injecting, however the danger of deadly overdosing grows. The exchange of used syringe ("needle sharing") increases the risk of HIV and AIDS infection.
The term became admits by the autobiographic novel "Junky" from William Burroughs.
